Rick Wilson invites Denmark community to NBN forum
Federal Member for O’Connor Rick Wilson MP believes a community forum in Denmark will help residents better understand NBN Co’s plans for the town.
Being held in partnership with the Denmark Chamber of Commerce, NBN Co and Telstra, the forum will take place at the Denmark Hotel on Thursday 7 May.
Mr Wilson said the forum will provide residents an opportunity to learn about the NBN Co’s exciting plans in the community.
“I am keen to hear first-hand about internet connectivity issues and explain how the NBN will help resolve these,” Mr Wilson said.
Mr Wilson will provide an update at the forum and residents would also hear from NBN Co, Telstra and Chamber of Commerce representatives, with an opportunity for questions at the end.
“Poor internet connectivity is an issue raised with me all the time as I travel around the electorate. I’m pleased Denmark residents are not being forgotten in the rollout plan and will soon receive the best internet connectivity going around.”
NBN Co recently updated its rollout plan to September 2016 with positive news for Denmark. Not only will central Denmark be serviced by the fixed line, a new fixed wireless tower is also under construction covering 384 premises in the surrounds of Denmark.
“The rollout plan shows our commitment to rural and regional Australia, providing a combination of fixed line, fixed wireless and satellite technologies to deliver fast broadband for all Australians,” he said.
