Apply for Festivals Australia and Visions of Australia regional touring grants
The Minister for the Arts Senator George Brandis has announced the Festivals Australia and Visions of Australia regional funding programs are now open for applications.
Federal Member for O’Connor Rick Wilson MP welcomed the Australian Government’s announcement of funding for regional tours of visual arts and support for arts and cultural experiences at regional festivals.
Mr Wilson said up to $2.4 million is available each year through the Visions of Australia program and up to $1.2 million is available through the Festivals Australia program.
“I encourage our outstanding local artists and arts organisations to apply. Not only will this funding bring great arts and cultural heritage experiences to our community, but it will also enable our local artists and arts organisations to share our stories around Australia,” Mr Wilson said.
Festivals Australia and Visions of Australia enable artists and organisations to shape Australia’s cultural landscape, increase cultural diversity and inspire, educate and entertain audiences across Australia.
Funding is available for projects and tours that increase access to and participation in the arts and cultural heritage for Australians living in regional and remote communities. Two funding rounds will take place each year.
Festivals Australia provides access to arts projects that grow audiences at festivals across regional Australia, support partnerships and collaboration and encourage community participation in arts projects at regional and remote festivals.
By supporting the development and touring of exhibitions, Visions of Australia increases access to high-quality Australian arts and cultural material, with a focus on audiences in regional and remote Australia. The program also encourages curatorial partnerships across the collections sector.
Applications to Festivals Australia and Visions of Australia close on Wednesday 30 September 2015.
