Harlsan Industries receives Industry Skills Fund grant

Federal Member for O’Connor Rick Wilson MP is delighted to announce that Kalgoorlie business Harlsan Industries has received an Industry Skills Fund grant of $66,739.

Mr Wilson visited Harlsan recently to deliver the good news and discuss growth opportunities with employees at the business.

He said the company, which specialises in reverse circulation drilling consumables, had identified how to expand its presence in overseas markets by improving competiveness.

“This funding will enable the company to improve its competitiveness through the use of advanced manufacturing techniques such as robotic automation and production statistics,” Mr Wilson said.

“Training in lean manufacturing, computer numerical control machining and online marketing are being completed to support this opportunity.

“Under the Industry Skills Fund, eligible businesses can receive support to undertake training in areas that they have identified as growth opportunities and develop innovative training solutions.

“The Government provides funding to businesses to help with the costs of any associated training including assisting employees to acquire new skills, upgrade their existing qualifications, or to train staff who may be new to the workforce.

The fund will assist in building a highly skilled workforce that can take advantage of new business growth opportunities and adapt to technological change.”
