Positive NBN news for Collie
Federal Member for O’Connor Rick Wilson MP said it was great news that 370 premises in the Collie surrounds will now be able to connect to the NBN.
Mr Wilson said more good news is also on the way for those residents who live in town, with construction of fixed line NBN covering 3,320 premises to begin in Q2, 2016.
Residents who live in an area outside the Fixed Line and Fixed Wireless footprint, will be able to connect to the Long Term Satellite Service after April this year.
Mr Wilson said NBN is delivering a combination of fixed wireless, fixed line and satellite technologies to ensure that all regional Australians receive the technology quickly.
“The Turnbull Government is delivering fast broadband to all Australians, in the shortest timeframe possible, and at least cost to taxpayers,” Mr Wilson said.
“I am delighted that residents in Collie will soon have access to a faster and more reliable service.
“This Government is providing the NBN to regional Australia faster than planned under the previous Government, with a renewed focus on country residents since my election in 2013.”
