The Truffle & Wine Co receives Industry Skills Grant
24 March 2016: Federal Member for O’Connor Rick Wilson MP is delighted to announce that Manjimup business The Truffle & Wine Co is benefiting from an Industry Skills Fund grant of more than $27,000.
Mr Wilson said the company, which produces and markets truffles and wines internationally, had identified how to expand its presence European markets by introducing new product ranges.
“They are completing the growth owners program through Curtin University Business School to support this opportunity,” Mr Wilson said.
“The Truffle & Wine Co is an outstanding example of a local business in the Manjimup community that is achieving success through innovation and creating jobs.
“Established in 1997 and surrounded by vineyards, the business produces rare and tasty black winter truffles and award-winning cool climate wines.”
Wine Manager Stuart Hutchinson was delighted to receive the grant and described the news as “absolutely awesome”.
“It is already having an impact on the way we are doing business,” he said.
Mr Wilson said the Turnbull Government is committed to helping business, especially small and medium enterprises, to grow, expand their markets and create more local jobs.
“Under the Industry Skills Fund, eligible businesses can receive support to undertake training in areas that they have identified as growth opportunities and develop innovative training solutions,” he said.
“The Government provides funding to businesses to help with the costs of any associated training including assisting employees to acquire new skills, upgrade their existing qualifications, or to train staff who may be new to the workforce.
The fund will assist in building a highly skilled workforce that can take advantage of new business growth opportunities and adapt to technological change.”
