Investing in Australia’s future leaders

21/9/2018

FEDERAL Member for O’Connor Rick Wilson is encouraging high-achieving individuals to apply for a share of the $119 million available as part of the government’s new Endeavour Leadership Program.

The program, which aims to enhance Australia's reputation for excellence in international education through the continued internationalisation of the education, training and research sectors, is now open for applications with grants starting at $2,500.

Mr Wilson said the program offers the opportunity to create the next generation of international education and research leaders across a wide variety of professional fields, by allowing recipients to develop their knowledge and expertise by building robust institution-to-institution connections.

“This fantastic program offers a once in a lifetime opportunity for O’Connor residents to study or conduct research at leading institutions in Australia and around the world,” Mr Wilson said.

“It is open to undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational education and training students, as well as higher education providers and registered training organisations.

“As an Endeavour Leader, you will gain invaluable international experience in study, research or professional development.

“Once Endeavour Leaders complete their award, they become part of the Global Alumni Network which maintains personal, institutional and educational links and friendships made during the program.

“Our economy depends on ensuring our students, academics and researchers become world leaders in their field and this investment will give them the skills to achieve that.

“I encourage all eligible people in O’Connor to apply for the program to expand their horizons and gain insights and skills to help them become our next generation of leaders.”

All successful Individual Endeavour Leaders will receive travel allowance of up to $3,000, a stipend of AU$3,000 per month, health insurance for the full category duration and travel insurance
