Wongutha CAPS looks to the future
Wongutha CAPS (Christian Aboriginal Parent-directed School) is embarking on the first step in its plans to revitalise the school site with a $29,000 grant from the Australian Government’s Capital Grants Programme.
Federal Member for O’Connor Rick Wilson congratulated Wongutha CAPS on receiving the grant that will go towards the development of a new master plan for buildings on the school site in need of redevelopment.
Mr Wilson said the Australian Government is dedicated to ensuring all Australian students have the infrastructure necessary to help them learn.
“The Australian Government believes that students come first. A quality education gives our young people the opportunity to achieve personal success and contribute to our nation.
“I would like to acknowledge the staff and school community at Wongutha CAPS, who are committed to enhancing the educational opportunities for their students,” Mr Wilson said.
The Capital Grants Programme provides funding for non-governments schools to improve capital infrastructure where they otherwise many not have access to sufficient capital recourses.
