More support for child care services in O’Connor
Member for O’Connor Rick Wilson today announced $50,000 to improve access to child care for children and families living in Albany.
Mr Wilson said Kingdom Kare will receive Morrison Government support through the Community Child Care Fund (CCCF).
“This funding will help Kingdom Kare purchase a bus, allowing them to offer transport assistance to isolated families and ensure families in Albany can access child care services,”
Mr Wilson said.
“It means more hard-working families in Albany can take advantage of our Government’s Child Care Subsidy to work, learn or volunteer.
“The CCCF is part of our Government’s Child Care Safety Net, which aims to give the most vulnerable children a strong start, while supporting parents into work.”
Mr Wilson said the Morrison Government was providing more than $7 million to 76 child care providers in disadvantaged areas across the country.
“Our
Government is providing a record investment of $8.6 billion for child care this
year,”
Mr Wilson said. “Our Child Care Subsidy has reduced out-of-pocket child care costs
for families by more than 7.9 per cent.”
The Morrison Government has provided more than $120 million to 800 providers over five years to support more families to access child care through the CCCF.
