New facilities for students at St Joseph’s School
Federal Member for O’Connor Rick Wilson today (November 18, 2021) attended St Joseph’s School to open the newly renovated Celsus Block that was funded by the Morrison Government.
Mr Wilson said kindergarten students would benefit from the new classrooms that will support engaging, interactive, student-focused learning.
The Federal Government provided $499,866 for the project through its Capital Grants Program, which provides funding for non-government schools to improve capital infrastructure.
“It was great to visit St Joseph’s School to see the new facilities and hear about the positive impact it will have on students,” Mr Wilson said.
“St Joseph’s School has a wonderful community, and these new facilities will enhance the learning environment.
“We are ensuring that every child gets a quality education no matter where they go to school.”
Mr Wilson said the Government was providing record funding for government schools, Catholic schools and independent schools.
“We are delivering real, needs-based funding that is matched by national reforms that will drive better results and outcomes, as recommended by David Gonski in his Review to Achieve Educational Excellence in Australian Schools,” Mr Wilson said.
“As part of our commitment to education, the Federal Government is funding improved facilities such as the new classrooms and nature playground at St Joseph’s School.”
