Thank you O’Connor

On Saturday a miracle occurred, and we know the Morrison Government will be a majority Coalition Government for three more years.

Here in O’Connor, the voters have honoured me with a third term representing them in Canberra.

Thank you is not a strong enough phrase to convey the depth of my feelings right now, but it is all I have. So from the bottom of my heart, I say thank you for your response to what I have done and faith in what I can still do for you.

What now stands before us is the duty to respond to such trust and faith with real action, consistent support and responsive engagement with and on behalf of locals who need a representative, a voice in their Parliament.

A voice for those who voted for me, and equally a voice for those who did not.

There are also plans to execute, promises to keep, and new Government to be formed, so the work continues unabated.

I recommit myself to your service, and I rededicate myself to the task of building a stronger local community.

Yours sincerely

Rick Wilson, Federal Member for O’Connor

I was inspired to run for Parliament following my involvement in a decade-long campaign to deregulate the wheat industry, which brought about the end of the Australian Wheat Board’s monopoly.

“I stand proudly for the Liberal philosophy of free markets, vigorous competition, small government and individual responsibility. These are the principles that guide me in my life and in this place. My track record in public life shows clearly that I am prepared to stand up for those principles.”

“To the electors of O'Connor, I reiterate the commitment that I have made to work tirelessly on your behalf, to always be frank and honest about the challenges we face, and to work cooperatively and collaboratively to improve the lives of the people who live in the greatest part of the greatest nation on earth”
